Описание
RedBoard is fully compatible with the popular Arduino Uno module. It means that it can be programmed through Arduino IDE environment using available libraries. Overlays, so called Arduino Shield will also work with SparkFun module. Thanks to SDA, SCL and IOREF connectors, the board will be compatible with future overlays.
The board combines the simplicity of Arduino Uno with the communication stability of FTDI series chips. On board is Atmega328 microcontroller with pinout compatible with Arduino Uno. Changes that can be noticed while using the module are:
- MiniUSB connector - the large USB B connector has been replaced with a small convenient miniUSB socket
- FTDI chip - for communication with the computer we used proven and stable FT232 module
- Board color was changed from blue to red
In order to run Redboard, connect it to computer with miniUSB cable and install FTDI drivers. Next, in Arduino IDE environment choose Arduino Uno board.
Powering the boardModule can be powered through miniUSB cable and external device like AC adapter, battery or accumulator. Switching the power source is done automatically. PSU is connected to standard DC socket. Battery or other source is connected to pins of the POWER connector.

Board selection in the Arduino environment - for both chips, select the Uno module in the options.
USB - UART converter - Uno has an Atmega16u4 chip with appropriate software, on the RedBoard there is a dedicated FTDI FT232 chip.Digital and analog pins - both boards have the same number of leads, placed in the same way.
Arduino board is made in THT (through-hole technology), RedBoard is made in SMD (surface mount technology).Operating voltage - both modules operate at 5V and have built-in 3.3V voltage regulator.
RedBoard is red, Arduino is blue. Example accessories- Gyroscopes, accelerometers, IMU - MEMS sensors with digital output (I2C bus)
- Displays - LCD screens, on which data can be easily displayed
- Optical sensors - range finders, colour sensors, optocouplers
- Gas sensors - systems that allow the detection of methane or alcohol concentration
- DC motor control lers - systems that allow you to control the direction and speed of motors
- Stepper motors drivers - modules allowing to control the position of the stepper motors
RedBoard SparkFun DEV-13975 is an Arduino compatible development board which you can use in various electronic projects. The model is fully compatible with Arduino UNO Rev 3, allowing you to use the same extensions and programming via Arduino IDE.
The RedBoard from SparkFun is perfect for such projects as robots, drones or RC vehicles, as well as small electronic devices and control systems. Thanks to the presence of two types of connectors, the module can control both digital and analog elements.
Universal and convenient board compatible with Arduino UNORedBoard can work with the same overlays as the popular Arduino UNO Rev 3 model. Therefore, the board can be enriched with various sensors such as MEMS or optical sensors, as well as stepper and DC motor drivers, displays and various lead expanders.
